Founded in 1961, Upper Canada Village is one of the largest living-history sites in Canada. Here, we endeavor to depict life in a rural English Canadian setting during the year 1866. Featured are over forty historical buildings, many moved here prior to flooding of the “Lost Villages” during the St. Lawrence Seaway development project. These include homes, functioning mills and trades workshops.

Dentz Orchards and Berry Farm is a fruit and vegetable farm located south of Ottawa in the St. Lawrence Valley. Family owned and operated since 1957, we take pride in serving our customers with fresh quality produce that offers exceptional taste and value. In the early 70s, we were in the forefront of the pick-your-own strawberry business in the Ottawa region. Today, we grow, pack, and ship strawberries, raspberries and apples. Our crops are sold through distribution channels as well as at our farm gate. We encourage you to visit our farm to taste for yourself the juicy goodness of a fresh picked berry and to sample our many product offerings. See Available Now for what’s in season.

THE CHEESE THAT GROWS ON TREES   Ok, Zengarry cheese doesn’t actually grow on trees, but the cashew nuts we use to make it do. A sustainable source of protein, rich in nutrients and high in heart-healthy fats, cashews are the primary ingredient in all of our plant-based cheeses. They’re not just good for you, they’re also naturally delicious!   How do you turn cashew nuts into cheese, you might ask? Easy! We start with cashew milk and culture it with custom probiotic cultures to which we add all-natural ingredients, including fresh herbs from our living wall before aging them to perfection. With a line of fresh spreads and semi-firm creamy wheels, there is something for everyone.   Our plant-based cheese shop is unique in Canada and offers private sampling events by reservation.
